Blog About What You Love and You Will Succeed

Blogging Tips

Let me repeat that statement - Blog about what you love and you will succeed. Its a fact. Do what you are passionate about. It can be anything. If you do something which you obviously enjoy doing then you will find it easy to succeed. The same goes for blogging too.

If you start a blog solely to make money from it, then I’m afraid to say, you cannot. Do what you like, and only then focus on making money. For example, one of my passions is badminton. I love the sport and enjoy writing about it. So I started a blog about it. When I started, my intention wasn’t to make any money, it was just a way to express love for a sport which I like very much. Everyone has their own interests. You might be passionate about soccer or science or movies or whatever. The thing is, you should focus where you interests lie. I recently read a nice ebook by Yaro Starak of Entrepreneurs Journey. You can get the ebook my subscribing to his blog. Let me quote a few lines:

Enthusiasm is the first and most critical ingredient to build a successful business.

If you care about your business, what your business does and how it does it, then you will maintain motivation day after day through the highs and lows. And I guarantee you there will be plenty of both.

If you don’t have enthusiasm, you won’t keep working long enough, nor will you enjoy what you do. If you don’t enjoy your business, it will fail, perhaps slowly, but eventually it will fail. If you do not have enthusiasm for your project, if you are not completely “sold” on what you do, you are not meant to be running that business.

Let’s say you are passionate about movies. You know everything about movies. You have your opinions about the latest flicks. You can start a blog related to that and giving out the latest news in the movie industry. And along with that, you can make some money off your blog too.

What I’m saying is that if you blog about your interests or passions you will enjoy and at the same time you will be able to make money from it. So, do blog about what you are passionate about. All the best. :)

A very true statement, and one that people so often forget. So often, people try and write about what they think will make the most money, and they fail miserably in keeping it going for very long. That’s probably why 90% of blogs fail before they get 3 months old, because they pick a bad topic, the key to writing for a while, is to write on an inexhaustible topic, that you are very familiar with. And like you said, having enthusiasm, is the most important.

Just be sure to due your due diligence in research ahead of time, IF you do want to make money eventually…..just because something is your passion, by no mean, means it is someone else’s.

This is actually where A LOT of people fail online.

I think that not many people can swallow that statement. I think being happy alone w/blogging can be considered as a success. Most people think its a get rich quick scheme so they never tend to enjoy it….

This is most definately a statement I agree with. I have in the past tried my hand a blogging with the intention of making money from it, as well as creating a website on an idea I though would make money but my interest and heart were in neither.

As a result neither came to success although I have no doubt that someone who had the same ideas but had the passion for it rather than just trying to make a quick buck would have made it succeed.

I guess movies have got it right this time. To succeed you have to be “in it for the glory not the money”

[...] Blog About What You Love and You Will Succeed - Something I generally live by in the world of blog creating. The post although short and probably not as detailed or aimed the way you would expect it to be is true. If you write to make money, unless you know your stuff and are creating articles for instance you won’t like it, (unless of course you’re making some good income). Have a quick read of it and it may help you find the niche you want to get into. Remember if you can provide the quality there will always be people that like the same stuff as you. [...]
