NameCheap Twitter Trivia Contest
NameCheap is holding a big contest at Twitter giving away over $17,000 worth of domains, domain transfers and other prizes.
NameCheap is a pretty popular domain name registrar. I’ve been using them since a few months now. Their prices on domains are very cheap. And with every domain, you get free WHOIS privacy. I guess they are the only domain registrar which doesn’t have an affiliate program (its sounds unbelievable, but its true). NameCheap states that it always relies on word-of-mouth for marketing.
So, this time, NameCheap is holding a big contest on Twitter giving away $17,000 worth of domains and domain transfers. The contest runs from December 1 to December 25.
Basically, what you have to do is follow them on twitter (create an account soon if you don’t have one) and link your twitter account to your NameCheap account. So, every hour, those guys will ask a question. What you have to do is reply with the correct answer (like @namecheap Santa Claus). The first three to answer correctly will win a free domain or transfer worth $9.69. To win the domain, you have to answer quickly.
All this for a Domain?
All this might sound like lots of work for one domain, right? Well, if you keep answering the most number of the questions, you can win an iPod!

Do you want a Free Domain Name?
Let’s talk about something other than blogging tips for a while. 
My situation
A few very nice domain name ideas popped into my head. I was pretty sure that those domain names would sell for hundreds of dollars. The only problem was that I had no money to buy the domains. I needed to buy those domain names fast so what I did was search Google for ways to get free domain names. Nothing useful turned up. Then I heard about this forum called DNTemple.
How to get free domain name
I’m going to tell you a way to get a real domain name. I’m not talking about how to get a crappy domain name with a .cc or .co.nr extension. Also, getting a domain name through this method involves some work, be ready to spend some time and calories.
There is a forum called DNTemple. DNTemple is a forum related to domain names and web hosting. The cool thing about his forum is that you earn points (DN Bucks) for each post you make. Once you earn enough DN Bucks you can convert them into cash at N4ME.EU and get your domain name. This might sound a little confusing, so here is a step-by-step method of what to do:
- Go to DNTemple and sign up.
- Introduce yourself in the forum and start posting. Be careful not to spam.
- You earn 5 DN Bucks for each post.
- Dedicate 2 minutes for each post. So that’s 60 posts in two hours. You earn 300 DN Bucks.
- Do this till you earn 1000 DN Bucks.
- Register at N4ME.EU. Go to Domain Shop in your DNTemple account. There enter your N4ME.EU account number and convert 1000 DN Bucks into about EUR 7.99.
- EUR 7.99 is transferred to your N4ME.EU account. You can use it to purchase a .com domain name!
Till now, I’ve registered only one (a very good one) domain name through this. Some of you might think that it is a waste of time instead of spending a few dollars for a domain name. But there are a lot of people out there who don’t have any money to start their online business or websites. For them, this is a very good way to get a domain.
